![]() If it's the bell housing on the transmission, that does come off but it's a pretty serious disassembly of the transmission. you'll need the anaerobic sealant to seal up the back of the block. If you're going to replace it, the end plate on the block is what holds the main seal so you're likely replacing that again. ![]() IIRC (I'd have to go back and look at the engine) all of the bolts that hold the transmission to the engine go through that thing and the main strength is from the cast iron block so it's really there just to take up space and block out dirt. ![]() If it's the end plate on the engine, how bad is the crack? Seriously if a piece didn't break off I might just leave it as is. Is this the aluminum plate that is bolted to the back of the engine or the torque converter housing that is part of the transmission
